Description

I recently acquired a simple 2 inch 0.5X focal reducer to see if I could use my Maksutov to produce live images during outreach activities. The backfocus was relatively tight, but with my ZWO ASI 290C and an 2 inch to 1.25 inch adapter with T2 thread I got it pretty close.

This image was livestacked in Sharpcap on August 29 2019. The conditions were pretty bad (moist and high clouds). The stacks were made with 3.6 second integration per image and gain at roughly 50%. I had aligned my EQ-5 mount with a rough drift alignment, but that was sufficient.

A total of 30 minutes was included in this image.
