Description

Sh2-228 (LBN 784) is a somewhat bright emission nebula located between 11,400 and 26,000 light-years away depending on the study cited in Auriga.  It spans 3 arc-minutes in our apparent view.  The image is primarily Ha which was combined with the RGB background stars.

A rarely imaged object which is too small for my 620 mm focal length and since I am too frugal to spring for a more appropriate rig, the challenge was just seeing how far the cropped image could be pushed to get a reasonable image with the least amount of time and effort.  A lazy mans challenge for a nice moonless evening (but fun and interesting).
