Description

Happy Halloween with this shot of The Ghost of Cassiopeia!

This wonderful and evancescent nebula, located 550 l.y. away from us in the Cassiopeia Constellation, is the toughest object I photographed so far.

This image is a HaRGB composition and the hardest part of the processing was bringing out the nebula and dust out of the background without ruining the stars, in particolar the bright Gamma Cassiopeiae.
I used the NBRGB combination script in Pixinsight and then worked separately on stars and nebula and merged them  together in Photoshop.
After many tries I finally achieved a result I am pleasant with, despite some imperfections still present.

Unfortunately the weather allowed me only a night to shoot at this target, but I hope to have brought out a decent result.
Let me know what you think and if you have any advice/suggestion!
