Description

Lobster Claw and Bubble Nebula’s The Lobster Claw Nebula is located about 11,050 light years away from Earth.Sharpless 157, sometimes referred as the Lobster Claw Nebula, is an emission nebula in the constellation Cassiopeia. The predominantly yellow part of the nebula is a very large H II region that is ring-shaped by the stellar wind of several giant stars, including the bright and very young Wolf-Rayed star WR 57. The small bright region at the left and up of centre of the image is Lyn's Bright Nebula 537 (LBN537 or Sharpless 157a). The blue coloured regions at the right part of the image mainly consist of highly ionized oxygen (OIII) and other gases. The small open star cluster NGC 7510 is located at the bottom right part. Bubble Nebula NGC 7635 (Sharpless 162, Caldwell 11)The Bubble Nebula is located about 11,090 light years away from EarthNGC 7635, also known as the Bubble Nebula, Sharpless 162, or Caldwell 11, is an H II region emission nebula in the constellation Cassiopeia. It lies close to the direction of the open cluster Messier 52. The "bubble" is created by the stellar wind from a massive hot, 8.7 magnitude young central star, SAO 20575. Also in this image are the following:M52 Star Cluster (Messier 52 or M52, also known as NGC 7654, is an open cluster of stars in the highly northern constellation of Cassiopeia. It was discovered by Charles Messier in 1774. It can be seen from Earth under a good night sky with binoculars. 5000 Light Years)NGC 7538 (NGC 7538, near the more famous Bubble Nebula, is in the constellation Cepheus. It is located about 9,100 light-years from Earth. It is home to the biggest yet discovered protostar which is about 300 times the size of the Solar System.)SH2-159 (The nebula is in the westernmost part of the constellation, on the border with Cepheus, just east of the nebula NGC 7635 and about 1° southwest of the open cluster M52.)NGC 7510 (NGC 7510 is an open cluster of stars located around 11,400 light years away in the constellation Cepheus, near the border with Cassiopeia. At this distance, the light from the cluster has undergone extinction from interstellar gas and dust equal to E = 0.90 ± 0.02 magnitude in the UBV photometric system.)
