Description

The core of Andromeda Galaxy is fairly easy to see with the naked eye from a dark sky site.  It is sometimes hard to imagine the relative scale of deep sky objects in comparison with each other.  This object is extremely large, while the core is bright enough to be a naked eye the outer arms of the galaxy are pretty faint.  If we could see the entire galaxy with our naked eyes it would be truly epic indeed, about 5 full moons can fit within this view of the galaxy.

This image combines visible light (RGB) with narrow band (Hydrogen Alpha and Oxygen III) and is made up overall of about 20 hours of integration (mostly for narrow band).
