Description

Time-lapse animation created from 289 recordings between 10:49 and 13:16UT on March 5th 2023. Each recording was 25 seconds long with a framerate of 30fps (750 frames) and 5 seconds delay between each recording.

The recordings where obtained using a Coronado SolarMax 60mm/BF15 w/Beloptik ITF, stopped down to 50mm, Baader 35nm H-Alpha and ZWO ASI 178mm. Everything was mounted on a SkyWatcher SolarQuest mount.

The best 100 frames from each recording was stacked in AutoStakkert!3 before they were aligned, sharpened and contrast-stretched in ImPPG.

Variable seeing and some scattered clouds resulted in 13 recordings having to be tossed during processing.

The final animation was created in PIPP at 15fps effectively compressing the 2 hours 27 minutes of duration down to just 18 seconds.
