Description

This Astrobin Debut Object , also known as UGCA 258, is a ring galaxy located 200 million light years away in the constellation of Corvus at a declination of -15 degrees. This galaxy spans less than 1 arc-minute in our apparent view and has an actual diameter of about 45,000 light years.  I could find nothing written about this galaxy. It is an interesting object and I think it would be spectacular if we were closer and had a better view of it.

This galaxy has a very odd structure. Although I think it is possible that it is a dwarf galaxy, I found it identified in one table as a collisional ring galaxy. I can see a ring-like structure with a void area in the middle and an offset core, although the ring is not distinct.
