Description

Combination of the Altair Ha/Oiii and Sii/Oiii filters.

Started collecting on the CEM25P, now sold and finished collecting with the CEM25EC (will be sold) - I have a GEM28 now for a heavier setup.

Processed in PI - I combine all of the Oiii subs using a WBPP trick (custom filter), but it requires 2 runs of WBPP.

RUN1.
1. Load all files from both filters. Make sure calibration is correct.
2. From Post-Calibration tab select 'separate RGB' and only select R channel.
3. Let WBPP do its thing.
4. You will have 2x Master Light files of R channel - 1x HaOiii and 1x SiiOiii
RUN2.
1. All the files should still be there with calibration. You need to remove them all (click Clear)
2. Click 'Add Custom' from the bottom options. Click Add Files and add ALL your HaOiii and SiiOiii files. Set Image type as Light, set Filter name as anything (I call it OiiiOiii) and set your correct Binning and Exposure. Click OK.
2. From Post-Calibration tab select 'separate RGB' and only select G channel (personally I dont value the B channel as I believe any Oiii in here is also in G)
3. From Registration Reference box on the right hand side, select either your Master Light HaOiii or SiOiii file from RUN1.
4. Let WBPP do its thing
PS - I always run with Drizzle 1x. , so you will end up with a _drizzle master for each as well. I delete the other Master Light files from the folder and work from these 3. (I rename accordingly - MasterLight_300s_Ha , MasterLight_300s_Oiii and MasterLight_300s_Sii)
Depending on how WBPP creates your star alignment, you may need to do another run of 2 of these against the 3rd, combine these, crop as necessary. then channel extract and save these 3 as the your files to then keep as the master files.
