Description

The Cave Nebula, designated SH2-155, is a diffuse nebula in Cepheus. It sits within the larger nebula complex shown here, containing emission, reflection and dark nebulae -- an astronomical hat trick. The Cave is an ionized HII region with ongoing star formation activity. It is about 2,400 light years from Earth.
