Description

A very famous planetary nebula which looks like a big eye laying in the dark sky. This version enhances the faint Ha signals of the matters that spilled out from a white dwarf laying on the very center. Around the center one could also see some interesting columnar-like structures sharped by strong stellar wind.

Data were acquired using the Chilescope T2 and provided by the Youth Astronomy Society of peking university (PKU YAS). The processing of this image was done by me with a total integration of 4.5 hours, 2 of Ha and 2.5 of OIII. With a 0.5m telescope much details are revealed but it seems like a disaster at the background of this image because the integration on the image was too little to have a smooth background while preserving the faint signals. I had tried many noise reduction processes but the results were bad. Perhaps given more data it would be better.
