Description

Messier 81 (NGC 3031 or Bode's Galaxy)  is about 12 million light years from us and about the same diameter as our Milky Way
Messier 82 (NGC 3034 or Cigar Galaxy) is at about the same distance as M82 but about half the size. This is a "starburst galaxy".
Struggling a bit to get the colours correct, especially M82 reds but fairly happy now as my local sky is Bortle 5.
2 sessions both with the L-Pro filter and about 5 hours in total.
300 sec x 46
30 sec x 129
Looking forward to gathering more data on this with a longer focal length scope.
