Astrophotography brings together my passions as amateur photographer, and physicist. I am relatively new to deep sky imaging (got a telescope mount on 2023), but I have been doing astrolandscapes with my Sony a7iii/iv during holidays since 2019. I love being outdoors; mountain biking, skiing, hiking... with my camera. On the rare occasions of clear skies in Switzerland, I setup my telescope on the balcony and try to image some of the wonders of our universe. My balcony and the horizon only give me access to targets between 15⁰ and 60⁰ altitude and 10⁰ to 190⁰ azimuth. So I mostly see targets well after they cross the meridian. My telescope cannot see polaris. With all weather and geometric restrictions, I decided for a very fast scope with good resolving power (RASA11), in order to be able to enjoy something in my limited time. Yet, the weight of my setup challenges the capabilities of the mount that I could fit in my restricted space (currently a CGX).
