I had an Orion Mak Cass back in 1998/1999, but I couldn't get the hang of the Polar Alignment, and the setting rings, and trying to find anything was near impossible. My desire is to do Astrophotography, why else would I be on Astrobin?!? I'm not a visual observer, my old eyes aren't that good any more.

Last year, I purchased an used Meade DS80-EC, not for the telescope, but for the mount. I wanted something that was GoTo that would track the start, at least for short duration (20-30 second subs). The mount was worse than horrible.

I now have an Celestron AVX, a GSO 6" R.C. with .5x Focal Reducer, the same Meade telescope, sans the mount, a Tamron 70-200mm F/2.8 and a 200-400mm F/5.6 which ride piggy back on the Meade I'm waiting on my Magnificent Mini AG package. So, we'll see how things shake out
