I have always had a keen interest in the natural world from the infinitessimally small to the astronomically large. Photography became the ideal medium to record what I saw and so I became interested in micro, macro and landscape photography. I've always had a fascination with astronomy and obtained a small telescope when I was about 10 years old and set about working my way through the Messier catalog. Living in a light polluted area I never got involved with astrophotography till recently. After a few trips to mid Wales and seeing the beauty of dark unpolluted skies I was hooked . Recently I was inspired by an article on DSLR photography in light polluted skies and so I set out to see what I could achieve using a budget DSLR , wide & telephoto lenses, DSS and Photoshop. I'm still very much a beginner but learning all the time.
