Hello everyone, my name is Kevin and I have been doing astrophotography on and off for the past 4 years. I did visual astronomy for many years before that.
I’m still very much a beginner (in this vast and difficult hobby!) and I hope to improve as time goes by.
My main telescope is a Televue 76 and I also use a Skymax 180 for planets. Here in Ireland it is cloudy much of the time so good nights for imaging are rare. I started using a HEQ5 mount which was great and I sold it recently and purchased a ZWO AM5 which is a wonderful mount, although expensive. I use the ASI Air plus also for capturing, guiding and focussing. I find I go out more with this mount given its weight and easy set up. Camera wise, I use a EOS1300D and a OSC ZWO 183MC.
Hopefully I’ll have a few more images up here soon. Thanks for reading😀. Kevin Murphy 18.12.2023
