Oscar Viteri was born and raised in Quito, Ecuador, where he obtained his Doctorate in Medicine. A full-time, double-board certified U.S. practicing Maternal-Fetal Medicine Physician, Oscar has a passion for astrophotography. When he is not staffing a busy clinic or performing hospital procedures, Oscar captures interstellar objects and deep-sky images. From clear nights at his residence to the dark skies of southern Utah or northern Minnesota, his work consists of multiple hours spent under the night sky acquiring images that are stacked and enhanced in post-processing to reveal a world invisible to the naked eye.

Oscar's photography features iconic nebulae and galaxies, as well as celestial objects within our own Solar System. His images are displayed in hospitals as well as local venues/fairs in and around the city of Des Moines, Iowa.
