I currently live in Pensacola, Florida and am 57 years old.
I have been into astronomy for about 40 years and have been mainly a visual guy.
Most of my AP has been planetary until about 3 years ago when I got my DSLR. Before that I had stabbed at some wet imaging but we all know how tough that is so it didn't last too long..........lol. Until 2012 all my work was done with a Meade fork mounted SCT on a wedge and pier. It was then that I got the "real" equipment, meaning a refractor and GEM.
It's been an interesting change, although even with my SCT, gathering the data has been the easy part. Processing the data on the other hand has been a very steep learning curve. For now I am perfectly satisfied with just seeing what those "faint fuzzies" look like so you probably won't find any "pretty" pictures here because getting the colors right seems to be my biggest challenge.
Well, that's my story and I'm sticking too it............ :-).
