Moving to the Pacific Northwest in the nineties gave me darker skies than in my native town in England and during a trip to the Table Mountain Star Party, I met with the Squak Mountain Telescope Gang who helped to re-ignite my passion for the sky. I dabbled with astrophotography for a while until my wife presented me with a weekend on one of the Kitt Peak telescopes for my 60th birthday followed by their astrophotography class. Since then, I’ve been trying to improve my skills, in truth, vacillating between improving my equipment and trying to get the best of what I’ve already got.
I balance my astronomy with my work in Search and Rescue (20 years now and 300+ missions, most good but some sad), currently as an EMT instructor. I have two grown up children with a wife that happily supports my penchant for staying up all night!
