I have been a dedicated licensed civil engineer for the past 20 years and working in the industry since 1994. I start my love of photography in 1998 when I moved to Colorado and clicked a few pictures with a disposable camera on the continental divide Trail a Kenosha Pass. We still have one of the pictures on display in our house.
In the past several years I have been able to improve my equipment and started studying the art in more depth. In 2016, on a 5 day canoe trip to the Boundary Waters, I took my first long exposure image of the Milkyway using an Ioptron sky tracker, Canon 80D, and a Canon EFS 18-135mm lens. The image was cool but not stunning. I had not learned about post processing and stacking at that point and would not revisit the topic until a few months ago (Covid 19 isolation did have an upside). I started studying these techniques and used the 2016 image to practice with and not expecting much. Needless to say, I was blown away at the image I had captured and I now I am hooked on the science, art, and the challenge of the photography craft.
I am eager to learn all I can about photography, astrophotography, and deep space imaging.
