Description

I will be honest... I do not know about you, but there is something very addictive and obsessing about processing data. I have done a lot lately, and I think I need to have a break, in spite of the inner yearning to keep creating more images! It will take some discipline to not do any tomorrow! Anyway, I thought I would have a go with Jim Misti's data again, now that I have this improved monitor and see how I would get on. This image is quite an eye-full on this monitor and difficult to process well at this resolution, although on smaller displays it should be better. I also always find Jim's data through his 32" scope, quite 'soft', which might be part of the problem, which means I have to use a lot more sharpening than normal - but this is the best I can do. Jim used a Ritchey-Chretien 32" Telescope at f7.2 (prime focus), and a SBIG STL-11000 CCD camera. This was 15 x 5 minutes Luminance unbinned and 5 x 5 minutes each R/G/B unbinned. Integration time is thus a mere!, 2.5 hours. Thanks everyone...
