Description

The Witch Head is a molecular cloud that appears by reflecting light from Rigel (off the top of the frame).  Reflecting light from that bright blue star gives it much of its color.  But, there are regions of thick clouds that show color of their own and block light from behind the nebula.  I addition the entire region is part of the Orion molecular cloud that glows in red Hydrogen alpha.
