Description

Situated close to 5000 light years away within the wintery constellation of Monoceros, the Rosette is one of the most beautiful nebulas found in the night sky. This image was taken with my RASA 8 telescope / ASI294 camera and is the product of an one hour of exposure on the evening of December 22nd. A cluster of very bright blue-white stars shine at its center. These stars formed from the surrounding halo of dust and gas, which includes dark lanes of dense dusty globules.
