Description

Here we have IC2574 Coddington's Nebula in Ursa Major. This is an irregular dwarf galaxy located about 12 million light years away. It is part of the M81 group of galaxies. It is about 50,000 light years across and does have some star forming regions as evidenced by the the pink hydrogen areas visible. The foregoing information is primarily from the NASA APOD web site.

This one was rather difficult to image for me as it is in the light dome of Phoenix. I did add some H-alpha data to this in an effort to bring out those star forming regions and I tried to very judiciously apply that.

I hope you like this, clear skies and good health!
