Description

SMC from southern Port Victoria, South Australia. 4hrs of data (24x10min 1600 ISO) taken with a canon 6D over two very cold, breezy and partly cloudy nights. Stacked in PixInsight with minor touch ups in Photoshop. Darks, flats and biases applied.

You can see the large star halo around the SMC out to the edges of the image which actually forms a bridge to the LMC. I will be trying to image this bridge later in the year if it is possible. Refer to the following link for more information about the bridge.
