Description

Sharpless 2-112 is a diffuse emission nebula in Cygnus, located on the surface of a huge sphere of cold, molecular hydrogen, it lies about 5.600 light years from Earth. It does not appear far from the North America Nebula, but is twice as far away from Earth.  This whole area of Cygnus is dominated by the Milky Way and is awash in faint nebulosity.  The nebula is illuminated by  BD+45 3216, the bright star at its centre, which is about 30x the size of the Sun, and radiates strongly in ultra-violet.

It is a fairly bright beautiful nebula easily available in the Northern sky.  The weather was clear with average transparency but less than average seeing.  Cloudy weather forecast for the next couple of weeks so this looked like as good as it will get for awhile.  Good Ha with much less O3.  I took a brief sequence of RGB data before shutting down.  The image is HOO with RGB.
