Description

One of the first two projects I worked on with my new QHY600.  I collected data for North America/Pelican concurrently with Heart Nebula.  But since I started North America/Pelican a couple of days earlier, this image was first light for the camera.  Being completely impatient and just wanting to image while I had clear skies, my backspacing is less than ideal for my early QHY600 projects.  Also, I didn't realize I had some reflections on these early subs until I processed the data several months after imaging.  While not ideal, I was able to manage the reflections in post-processing by using StarXterminator and judicious application of CloneStamp.  I eventually took care of the reflections in my imaging train with Mars Black touchup paint. For an unknown reason, my S2 stars were bloated, which resulted in unacceptable stars.  To produce a more acceptable starfield, I ended up using a tweaked blend of the Ha and O3 stars.  When I get the chance, I'll capture some RGB data to make a more visually appealing star field and consider that as the final version of the image.
