Description

Embedded in the large Ha structure of the Sagitta Bubble is a unique Wolf-Rayet star, WR128. This star is associated with an even more unique nebula! The region is noted as Sh2-84, but most of the details within are in Oiii, and not the commonly shot Ha. The last person to capture this region in its completeness was Lionel Mulato in 2009, and back then his Oiii image came with the discovery of Mul5, a small Oiii PN which actually contains its own Wolf-Rayet star. You can read about Lionel's discovery here.

WR128 is supposedly one of the more quiet Wolf-Rayet stars in the sky. It is 9,500 LY away in the constellation Sagitta and has a temp around 70,000K.

I decided to produce a follow-up image this May when I detected the region in a large 40hr survey, and the follow-up revealed more interesting details. A bit frustrating it took so much integration time to learn of its existence (maybe I should include this in my acquisition details lol). Back in Lionel's images, he resolved the brightest segment of the Oiii arc, and guessed maybe that the arc had an extension:

With a ton of exposure at f/3, this turned out to be true! WR128 forms a complete envelope, not only this it is surrounded by an Oiii bubble of massive proportions, and peculiar structure. The extra exposure time also revealed the presence of a very old PN discovery, now called Falls 3. WR128 is a gift that keeps on giving!

Hope you all enjoy the image.
