Description

Suspected type 2 Seyfert galaxy NGC4725 is a weakly barred spiral galaxy about 40Mly from Earth and is the brightest member of the Coma I group in the constellation Coma Berenices. It is gravitationally interacting with the nearby (370kly) NGC4747. Both galaxies show evidence of this interaction through warping of the spiral and a tidal plume.
