Description

Sharpless 2-115 is a faint emission nebula some 2 degrees NW of Deneb at an estimated distance about 7,500 light years from us.
Sharpless 2-116, the small "planetary" just below the center, is in fact a HII region as recent studies have shown. Also known as Abell 71.

The image was taken over three nights and inspite a seemingly perfect seeing, guiding was getting worse each night. The third night when imaging in SII, average RMS was as bad as 1"!
