Description

The Rosette Nebula has been photographed a million times, so of course I had to image it with my three narrowband filters, hydrogen-alpha, oxygen and hydrogen-beta. Turns out, there is a lot of hydrogen-beta in this one. Probably because it is very bright due to the new stars at the centre (NGC 2244). Also, the stars may have blown dust away allowing the h-beta to shine through more. Dust can scatter the blue h-beta. I used RGB for the stars.
