Description

3D lunar Ptolemeus, Alphonsus, Arzachel, and Albategnius crater  imaging from high definition amateur telescopic images with free QGIS software.
Dynamic three-dimensional image of the Copernic crater acquired with a Mewlon 250 mm Takahashi (Barlow x2 f:3000mm, ASI 1778 MM ZWO) and a digital elevation model (DEM) in RASTER format provided free of charge by NASA /JAXA (Lunar_LRO_LOLAKaguya_DEMmerge_60N60S_512ppd).
The telescopic image obtained is coregistered with the digital elevation model obtained by NASA's LRO satellite and JAXA's KAGUYA satellite in Japan. The precise altimetry provided enables the elevation of the 2D telescopic image of the earth to be calculated. A precise representation of the lunar crater image is thus possible.
