Description

Lodged in the great Milky Way, Messier 16 (The Eagle Nebula) contains some of the most famous space dust... the Pillars of Creation. The three pillars are center in this shot, below the cluster of approximately 8100 stars born in this stellar baby making factory.

As with a lot of objects in the Milky Way, this one poses logistical problems with my observatory and my neighbour's trees. Thankfully, only 30 minutes of exposure time was needed to bring out the detail. Cheers to living in a dark site!
