Description

The sub frames for this image were shot when I was on a Bortle 3 sky, near lake Tsivlou, Achaia, Greece. The sky was so dark there that all these details popped up, even by exposing at 13 seconds shutter speed, on just a tripod.

However, I shot 100 of those light frames(plus darks and bias to reduce the noise). The stack was then made with Sequator, using the "Freeze Ground" option.

For the shot, I used Nikon D90(stock) at ISO 3200 and Tokina AT-X 11-16 f/2,8 Pro DX II, at f/2,8.

Lights: 100
Darks: 30
Bias: 50

All of the data were collected on June 28th 2021 and I am really glad I stacked and processed them after all this time, since the result satisfies me!

The same night I also captured 100 more light frames with narrower view of the milky way, using my Nikkor DX AF-S 35mm f/1,8 G lens.
