Description

The scorpions 🦂 tail!! This is LBN 468. It's a collection of dark nebulae located in the constellation of Cepheus and is about 1600 light years from Earth! I don't see it called out as looking like a scorpions tail online, but this is what it resembles to me. I captured this from awesome Bortle 3 skies in the Tuscarora State Forest in Pennsylvania. I live in a Bortle 5 zone and this area is only about 1 hour and 45 min away from my house. It's been a while since I have imaged from here but need to take more advantage of this awesome dark sky that is not too far away. The data I captured was so clean which made the processing very easy and so enjoyable! I was able to get 6.5 hours of integration over the one night I was there.
