Description

So I had first light last night for my new AM5 mount as well as my RedCat51 astrophotography telescope.  I picked the Veil Nebula as it was both far away from the moon which would be rising and is a nice DSO to photograph.  I have to learn a bit more on using the ASI Air Plus but overall I am very pleased.  Murphy always works overtime and last night was no different.  Clouds decided to roll in for a brief while and they did it right when the AA+ was doing a meridian flip on the AM5.  Never missed a beat.  Kept right on tracking and taking images.  Found and centered things well and kept on going.  I need to figure out how to center my desired FOV better with the AA+.  I just picked NGC6974 and that is where it put things.  I would imagine there is a way to retarget from an existing FOV but I'm not aware of how to do that yet.  Overall, for a new mount and a new OTA, I'm quite happy.  Hoping to get some more subs tonight and tomorrow night weather permitting.
