Description

This is a narrowband image of the Crab Nebula, or M1.   Approximately 22 ten minute sub frames were captured for each color, for a total of approximately 10 hours of exposure.   Photographed from the backyard in Alexandria, VA under Bortle 7 skies, but using 3nm narrowband filters.   My first time photographing the Crab Nebula, which looks more like a 'Fire Opal' than a Crab to me.   First real target photographed using 160mm refractor acquired in October mated with a .72 reducer/flattener at the front end of the QHY 600 full frame CMOS sensor.   I'm putting this detail in here because I was having difficulty previously in updating my equipment profile.
