Description

This is my first jab at high resolution DSO imaging. Promising, but quite SNR-challenged. I just was not prepared for the amount of data (storage/processing) needed with this technique... will have to work on that.

Just grabbed the best 50% of 200-ish subs of L and 50% best of 100 each of RGB and combined, with drizzle and deconvolution. I had to bin 2x2 to get a manageable data rate (quite a bummer), but still drizzle was able to recover ample detail.

L exposure was 800ms and RGB 1600ms (astrobin won't let me set ms for exposure in DSO mode).

Seeing was decent at the beginning, but quite worse by the time I got to the B filter.

I got lazy and didn't guide nor take any flats. Guiding would have preserved the borders that I had to discard due to drift, and flats would have again saved the borders that I had to discard due to dust. There's a significant margin that has been cropped from this image due to those "mistakes".

I will have to figure out the guiding/dithering during this kind of endeavor.
