Description

This Astrobin Debut Object is a very faint superthin edge-on spiral galaxy located 110 million light years away in the constellation of Cassiopeia at a declination of +76 degrees.  This magnitude 16 galaxy spans 4 arc-minutes in our apparent view, which corresponds to a Milky Way size diameter of 120,000 light years.

In addition to being faint and thin, this galaxy is also close to our galactic plane, making visibility of it through our galaxy’s dust and gas even more difficult.
