Description

The main image presented here is an HOOLRGB composit of the Galaxy M 33 in the constellation Triangulum. The initial intention in taking the image was to show the many emission nebulae of the M 33 galaxy, so wonderful in shape and color. As a special feature and surprising side effect the processing revealed a new discovery - the small round nebula cataloged as PNG 133.7-31.4 respectively Maa 2. The Nebula was discovered in  October 2022 and has the status "Likely PN"  at the moment of this upload. I give it the popular name "Salie's Nebula" as a dedication to our beloved daughter.

The position in the line of sight to M 33 and the quality of the data available so far, together with the complexity of its environment, make the determination of its true nature complicated. A spectroscopy performed by Pascal Le Dû and a review of the available data by Prof. Quentin Parker (HKU) led to the actual classification as "Likely PN". Further analysis is required to change this status.

The Nebula has a diameter of about 28" and is more present in OIII than in Ha while it shows no significant signal in SII. For this reason it presents itself in a HOO composite in greenish hue.

Finally I would like to briefly highlight a peculiar nebular structure located in front of or behind at the nearby magnitude 12 star TYC 2293-1266-1. The tiny nebula can be seen in different shapes in Ha (6 an 9 o clock) as well as in OIII (6 o clock).

The data image were acquired with an ASI 2600 mm-pro and a TS Photoline 130/910 mm with TSRED 379 Reducer.
