Description

A supernova remnant (SNR) in Cassiopeia that is about 10,000 light years away and 100 light years across.  It has common names such as Popping Balloon Nebula,  Artichoke Nebula, and Garlic Nebula.

It was originally cataloged has a planetary nebula as Abell 85, but then later cataloged CTB1 and an SNR.  Abell 85 is also a designator for a galaxy cluster in the constellation Cetus.

One of the most challenging objects for me so far from my Bortle 7 sky especially for Oiii.  SHO processed.
