Description

As planned, I used a 3X focal extender instead of a 2X Barlow to increase the focal length from 2845 mm to 4267 mm to see if I got better resolution and the answer appears to be yes.  The seeing was quite comparable to recent imaging attempts on Jupiter, so that most likely was not an important factor.  To me anyway, this latest shot revealed more detail than previous shots and the image tolerated more magnified views much better.  Pretty cool ...

I had 66 videos with approximately 1260 frames each.  Each video was 15 s with 0.012 ms exposures, yielding a fps of about 80.  In total, I had about 83,000 frames to work with, out of which I used 30 % for stacking, which is about 25,000 frames stacked.  To facilitate data entry into WinJUPOS I took sets of three consecutive images each from the images produced by the original stacking of the frames from the 66 videos.  I stacked the three images in each set to get 22 images to enter into WinJUPOS.  I reasoned that since the span of time for three consecutive videos in the original data was never more than two minutes there would be no need for de-rotation in each of the sets.
