Description

This is Messier 22, a nice globular cluster in Sagittarius.  M22 is approximately 1 degree off the ecliptic so in the spring summer months it's riding pretty low in Vermont skies.   I think I shot this at an altitude of between 10 and 20 degrees.   And if you know Vermont skies, I'm amazed I have an image.   I shot this with a TEC180fl scope reduced and corrected by an Astro Physics Quad TCC to bring the focal ration to F5.    The scope was mounted on an Astro Physics 1100GTO mount with encoders and used unguided with a sky model.     The camera is an ASI2600MC one shot color.   Processed entirely in Pixinsight.     Globulars are one of my favorite objects to view through the eyepiece, and M22, even though it's low, doesn't disappoiint.    It's a mag 5 visual cluster so accessible for many scopes.
