Description

IC417 and NGC1931, the Spider and Fly Nebulae. These are found in the constellation of Auriga and are located about 10,000 and 7,000 light years away, respectively. They are both stellar nurseries and are relatively 'young' at around 3 million years old. The whole area is unusually dense in ionized sulfur (reddish hues) and very heavy in ionized hydrogen (gold) while being very weak in ionized oxygen (blue). This was shot over two nights while dealing with an annoyingly bright moon and the ever-present skyglow.
