Description

Located at the western end of the great rift in the Milky Way,  RCW89 is a faint, but beautiful, pulsar-wind-driven nebula.

There are only few images on AB, mostly made with the same data-set from a CDK24.

Having dismissed as beyond the grasp of my RC12, I was inspired by @Anne-Maree McComb  recent image to give it a go.

After more than 15 hours of subs, I am now at the point where any further improvement with more data are hampered by my lack of post-processing skills [or patience].

So, for what it is worth here is my best attempt.  I have deliberately sharpened it a little more than normal, since I think this shows off the structure in the nebula as little better.

Looks like I am going to need a bigger 'scope.
