Description

This 2 panels mosaic of the Cygnus loop took a while to complete. As usual this year, clouds have been ruining most Astro nights and I had to throw out half of the data that I gathered du to faint high clouds and some guiding errors. I still got enough data to produce what I think is a pretty good image of the Cygnus Loop.
Pareidolia is strong in this one, I see so many things from a Lion, to the Joker to Jabba the hut!

I hope that you enjoy it!

Additional info
  • Captured using N.I.N.A
  • Stacked in APP
  • Processed in Pixinsight and Photoshop

I took a different approach for this one. I started by stretching each channel, then removing the stars and kept them for later use. I combined as a standard HOO image and made 2 copies of that image. On the first one, I applied Ha as lum which boosted the red, but lowered the intensity of the B and G channels. I extracted the red channel of that image and combined it to the G and B channels of the original image.

Note: I used EZ Denoise on the Ha and Oiii data, but i also applied of very slight noise reduction on the starless version using Topaz Denoise AI.
