Description

The Coal Sack is one of my favorite objects in the southern sky.
Although I had already photographed it once in Namibia in 2018 (Southern Cross and Coalsack in Ha-RGB (Rolf Dietrich) - AstroBin) , I wanted to take it again with a CMOS camera with its smaller pixels.
In order to capture the fine structures better, I took additional photos with a 350mm refractor, especially to be able to show the very faint Theta Muscae-SNR more clearly.

The base image is photographed with the Mamiya lens.
Additional images with the refractor were helpful to better show the fine Ha and OIII structures in the lower left area of the image.
Using continuum subtraction, I highlighted the very weak OIII-emissions of the Theta Muscae SNR.
