Description

Elephant Trunk Nebula.  Got about 5.5 hours on this target over two nights.  This was also my first time using Pixinsight which has dramatically improved things!

On another note, the Optolong L-eXtreme gives the image a crazy green hue (at least, I believe that's what causes it) which the Pixinsight's Background Extraction removes flawlessly, however I noticed that even though the background space appeared black, the stars all had a slight green Halo around them. The only way I could seemingly fix this was to bring it into Lightroom and adjust the color mix. I slid the green more towards yellows, and then reduced the saturation a bit and it fixed the problem. But it felt like a bit of a "cheat".

I'm still brand new to Pixinsight though (this was my first attempt with it) so if there's a better way to solve this in there, let me know! Overall though. I was shocked at how (relatively) easy it was to pull out so much detail. In all my time with DSS + adobe LR/PS I could never get anywhere near this kind of detail.
