Description

Lobster Claw Nebula also known as SH2-157. This ​​bright emission nebula is located 8000 light-years away and is over 200 light-years across in the constellation of Cassiopeia. The blueish-colored regions are predominately from the emission of light from molecular oxygen and the red/orange portions of the nebula are made up of strong HII.

This nebula has been described as a ring nebula surrounding the Wolf-Rayet star WR 157.
