Description

I could, perhaps, draw some connection between the fact that Messier misplaced this star cluster only for it to be "rediscovered" by Caroline Herschel and others, later, and the fact that I imaged it a year ago but had insufficient integration time and had to come back to it, later, but such a connection is tenuous at best

There's not a whole lot to say about this cluster, other than the fact it is rather low in the southern horizon from my latitude, and thus a tricky target in terms of integration time and also poor contrast & atmospheric distortion, but here it is, a target of opportunity when the moon was too bright for M42 a year ago, revisited this year to bulk up on integration time. I had to fight with some chromatic aberrations in the brighter stars (red tinges to blue stars, or perhaps vice-versa?) but I suspect this is the best I'll get from my backyard.

Clear skies to you all, and thanks for having a look!
