Description

It's been a few years since I was last able to capture my signature photo of the full moon rising behind the Q1 building, the tallest in Australia, with SkyPoint climbers on the viewing platform. On this evening, however, the timing was right and there was a rare suitable location unhindered by trees, buildings or clouds 3.3km away from the Q1 for me to get these shots.
They were taken with a Canon 6D camera attached to a 952mm focal length telescope and I use the amazing iPad/iPhone software “Photopills” coupled with Google Earth and an aircraft-grade GPS to pinpoint the shooting location which needs to be accurate to within a couple of metres.
